What's Changing?
Starting on May 16, 2024, HubSpot will treat any form submissions from unregistered domains as potential spam or phishing attempts. This means the data will no longer flow into your portal as usual, but will be segmented into a different list for review. The only way to avoid issues is to specifically register any external domains that you use to host forms. This update is intended to protect customers from malicious attacks. However, it also means you need to take action to register valid domains.
Steps to Register Your Domain
Registering domains is easy, here are the basic steps:
- Log into your HubSpot portal
- Navigate to the Tracking Code tool under Settings > Account Setup > Tracking and Analytics
- Click on the Advanced Tracking tab, then choose Additional Site Domains
- Follow the instructions in this Knowledge Base article on how to add trusted domains to your account.
Once registered, these domains will continue to have form submission data processed as usual after the May 16 deadline.
What Happens If You Miss the Deadline?
If you fail to register your domains before May 16, any form submissions from those sites will be marked as spam. This prevents the lead data from reaching your portal.
You’ll still have access to these submissions in the Spam Submissions tool; however, they will only be retained for 90 days. After that, the leads will be deleted permanently.
As you can see, it’s incredibly important to take action now to avoid losing access to your inbound lead data.
